Barry Dewayne Wilson, 66, of Hollister, MO formerly of Grove, OK passed away May 6th, 2021 at Cox Medical Center in Branson, MO. He was born October 27, 1954 in Pittsburg, Kansas, to Winfred Wilson and Donna Wilson Merryman.
If you knew Barry you knew he’d never met a stranger. He was a friend to everyone.
Barry graduated from Pittsburg Kansas High School in 1972. Attended Independence Jr. College for 2 years. He graduated from Rhema Bible College in 1994. He was a youth minister in Georgia and Kansas and loved his youth. They were his “Kids”.
Barry loved telling others about Jesus and God’s power to heal. He built custom homes in the Grand Lake Area, the Dairy Queen, Wolf Creek shopping center and Bears Den. He then remodeled Wal-Mart stores throughout the USA. Before his retirement he worked as an insurance adjuster.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Winfred Wilson, Donna (Wilson) Merryman and stepfather Jerry Merryman. Brothers Jimmy, Arthur (Art) and sister Susan (Suzi) Avers and grandchildren Samuel and Faith Kramer.
Barry is survived by his wife of 47 years, Vickie (Chubb) Wilson. Daughter Jamie Kitlen, her husband Rance of Grove, OK. Daughter Kelly Kramer, her husband Errol of Ohio. Grandchildren Roland Kitlen, his wife Stephanie, Alexia Kitlen, Luke Kitlen, Malachi Kramer, fiancé Meredith Saboley and Jonathan Kramer. Great grandson Kolton Kitlen. Brother Mike Wilson and family of Kansas. Terry Wilson, wife Diana of Ohio. Sisters Virginia Wren, husband Gary and family of California, Sherri Adams, husband Bruce and family of Kansas. Amy Pearce, husband Mike and family of Kansas. Brother-in-law Kirk Chubb and wife Mindy and family.
The Celebration of Barry’s life will be held on Thursday, May 13th at 5:30 pm at Christ Church at the Crossroads, 56900 E Highway 59, Afton, OK 74343.
