Dora Barbara LePla entered into rest on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at her home in Forsyth at the age of 85.
Barbara was born February 18, 1939 in Paragould, Arkansas to Pinkney Whisnant and Volena (Barber) Whisnant. Around the age of 4, her family moved to Michigan and Barbara spent the majority of her life there raising her children and working. She invested twenty-seven years with the fastener manufacturer, MNP Corporation in Utica, Michigan retiring as the human resource manager from the amazing company which was like her second family. Barbara also loved being a mom and grandma and being involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren participating with them in school activities and extracurricular activities like Boy Scouts.
In 2001, Barbara moved from Michigan to Southwest Missouri and lived in Blue Eye and later Forsyth. In Branson, she volunteered many hours at the Veterans Memorial Museum. She was a huge supporter and advocate for veterans and enjoyed her time spent at the museum.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Duane LePla.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Michael Kulis, Robert Kulis, Lynn Bracy & husband Steven, Steve Kulis, Kristine Moore & husband James and Margaret Roberson; step-sons, Duane LePla and Kevin LePla, her brother, Charles E. Whisnant and her nineteen grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren.
Barbara’s family will hold a memorial celebration for her at a later date. In her memory, memorials are requested to the American Cancer Society, donate.cancer.org.
Cremation arrangements are in the care of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson.
