Alice Novak Obituary

Mrs. Alice Quearry Novak, 89, Forsyth entered into rest on Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020.  Funeral service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25 at 10 AM Faith Lutheran Church, Branson.  Pastor Joel Krueger will officiate.  Burial will follow in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  

Alice Novak was born May 30, 1931 in Iola, Kansas.  She was the daughter of Marshall and Irene (Salazara) Chavez.   She married Jim Quearry and they were blessed with six children. Alice and Jim had lived in Branson coming from Kansas City, Mo. They had owned the Branson Lumber Company. She also was a retail clerk and had worked for Brite’s Clothing and Wal-Mart Jewelry in Branson.

Alice married Joe Novak in 1999.  She and Joe owned a 5th wheel and they traveled the United States and Canada. Her special thrill was having the opportunity of riding in blimps.  In 1996 she rode in the Kroger-Atlanta Police Blimp during the Olympics and in 1998 she rode in the Fugi Film Blimp in California.  She also sailed on the Zodiac out of Washington and up the coast to Alaska. She rode in hot air balloons and saw the Rose Bowl Parade.

Alice was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church, Branson.  Her hobbies and interest were sewing, taking pictures, making photo albums, bird watching, flower garden, and volunteering at thrift store. She will be remembered for being a loving mother, grandmother and a wonderful homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband’s Jim Quearry and Joe Novak, daughter Diana Quearry and brother Albert Chavez.

Alice is survived by five children Debbie Rogers, Nancy Call (Gene), Janet Robinson (Lynn), Jeanine Beasley, Joanna Schafer (Denny), seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren, also seven step-children, Rick Brendt, Scott Novak, Marilyn Tomasek, Bunny Celenza, Karen Falzon, Debbie Conoyer, Joe E. Novak, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Her brothers Pete Chavez, Benny Chavez and a sister Simona Doffing also survive her.
