Violet Rose Holt was born on February 12, 1930 in Harvey, Illinois to Emerson Orr Ahrens and Rose Bertha (Doody) Ahrens. On January 15, 1949 she married Alfred Holt in Kankakee, Illinois. Violet and Alfred moved to Kimberling City from Posen, Illinois 56 years ago.
Violet was a loving and devoted mom, homemaker, resort owner, bookkeeper and a super accordion and piano player. She came from the school of hard knocks, didn’t always tell you what you wanted to hear, and you always knew where you stood with her. She instilled a great work ethic in her kids and always encouraged them to do their best no matter what.
Violet entered into rest on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at Tablerock Healthcare in Kimberling City, MO at the age of 89. She will be greatly missed but we celebrate her graduation to glory.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Emerson and Rose Ahrens; her husband, Alfred Holt; daughter, Diane Bibens; brother, Bud Ahrens and sisters, Lucille Graefen and Jeanne Foust.
Violet is survived by her daughters, Denise and husband Joe Rickman of Branson West and Dayle and husband Terry Gothrup of Kimberling City along with ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Violet will be buried next Alfred in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
