Van Victor Sikes was born September 14, 1949 in Bonne Terre, Missouri. He was the son of James Carroll Sikes and Patsy Adele Sikes. Van served in the United States Army as a Chaplain’s Assistant and then served in the United States Navy as a Hospital Corpsman in Charleston, SC and Great Lakes, IL. After retiring from the armed services, Van used his training to help patients as a LPN in the hospital setting.
Van entered into rest on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at Sonshine Manor in Republic at the age of 70.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Sikes and two sons, Richard Lee Sikes Sherrell and David Lee Sikes.
Van is survived by his daughter, Deborah Lynn (Sikes) Robinson and husband Shannon of Hollister, Daniel Lee Sikes and wife Virginia of Arcadia, MO; mother, Patsy Sikes of Pilot Knob, MO; brother, James Sikes and wife Gail of Pilot Knob, MO; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Services will be Saturday, December 7, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at the Penuel Fellowship at Camp Penuel, 10551 MO 72, Ironton, MO. Van will be buried in IOOF Cemetery in Bismarck, Missouri.
