Ruth Arlene Abbott was born May 26, 1926 in Marshalltown, Iowa.  She was the daughter of John William Roberts and Lena (Smith) Roberts.  Ruth grew up in Ames, Iowa, graduating from high school there.  In 1945, she moved with her family from Ames to Springfield, MO.  She married George William Jenkins in Springfield, Missouri and they were blessed with four children.  Ruth was a wonderful wife and mother, investing her life in taking care of her family and raising her children.  George passed away in 1970 and Ruth later married Charles Abbott in Branson.

Ruth was a member of the inaugural group of Gray Ladies at Skaggs Community Hospital organized in 1950, volunteering much of her time.  She was a proud member of P.E.O. and she also attended Grace Community Assembly in Branson.  In her free time, Ruth loved to paint.

She entered into rest on February 26, 2019 in Branson at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, George William Jenkins and Charles Abbott; sons, Tim Jenkins and Joseph Jenkins.
