Roberta S. Yates

Graveside services for Roberta S. Yates, 68 of Hollister, MO will be held Friday, October 11, 2019 at 12 PM in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Captain Larry D. Cripps, CHC, USN (retired) will officiate. Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson, MO.  Mrs. Yates passed away Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at Cox Medical Center Branson. 

Roberta Sue Yates was born in Bloomington, Illinois.  After high school she furthered her education and received her LPN license.  Roberta worked at doctor’s offices in Bloomington, IL.   Her patients all loved her manner and care.

Roberta married the love of her life, Kenneth Yates, on June 28, 1969 in Bloomington, IL. This past June they had celebrated fifty years together.  Roberta and Kenneth were blessed with two children.

They moved to the Tri-Lakes area five years ago from McLean, IL.  Roberta enjoyed her family and especially her two grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, camping, boating and fishing.  Roberta had a loving dog Izzy that will miss her.

She was preceded in death by her parents Archie and Mildred Epley, one sister Delores Stevens and two brothers Harold Barlow and Gene Barlow.

Roberta is survived by her loving husband Kenneth of the home; daughter Angelea Karr (Brian) of Bloomington, IL; son Theron Yates (girlfriend Brittany DeRiggi) of Peoria, IL and two grandchildren Cambryn and Colin Karr.

Visitation will be Friday, October 11 at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory from 10:30 AM till service time at 12:00 PM.

Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place,

Memphis, TN 38105.

A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Heyworth, IL, to be announced.
