Marilyn Joan Parazine was born on July 20, 1946 in White Oak, Mississippi. She was the daughter of Hershel Dewitt Hollingsworth and Mary Ruth (Canterbury) Hollingsworth. Joan grew up in White Oak and graduated from high school there. Joan was an entrepreneur. She had opened and operated a restaurant in Raleigh, MS soon after high school and after starting her family she owned and operated a hotel and flower shop. She also worked as the Parks & Recreation Director for Forest, MS before moving to Branson where she excelled in the sales market which is no surprise because of her exceptional people skills and fun spirit.
Joan was a terrific mother and grandmother, and time with her grandkids was one of her favorite things. She took great care of her family and shared her love with one hundred and two foster children over her life. She was a fabulous cook, loved her faithful companion Kodiak and enjoyed searching for treasures at thrift stores. Joan attended Friendly Baptist Church. She had great fun, wit and Southern charm about her and will be missed beyond words.
She entered into rest on Saturday, June 2, 2018 in Jackson, MS at the age of 71.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hershel and Mary Hollingsworth, one son, Jeffrey Parazine and brother Larry D. Hollingsworth.
