Funeral services for Marilyn K. Boyce, 75 of Branson will be held Saturday June 23 at 2PM in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Pastor Dennis Webb will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Mrs. Boyce entered into rest on Wednesday June 20, 2018 in Branson.
Marilyn Kathleen Boyce was born July 7, 1942 in Vienna, Missouri. She was the daughter of Lloyd Austin and Venice Virginia (Clayton) Terry. Marilyn attended the Terry Baptist Church in Vienna, Mo. and she was Baptized at this same church.
Marilyn attended grade school in Vienna, Mo. She graduated from Rolla High School, Rolla, Missouri in 1959 with honors and received an academic scholarship to Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Mo. where she attended for two years. Marilyn was a member of the Alpha Sigma Alpha Sorority. She then attended the Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas where she received her BS degree with an English major and Cum Laude Honors. She taught school at Gibault for Boys in Terre Haute, Ind.; Fredericktown High School in Fredericktown, Mo.; Ft. Osage Jr. High School in Independence, Mo.
During her life she had also worked for Gaddy Drug Store in Rolla, Missouri; Kansas City Life Insurance Co. in Kansas City, Mo.; Commercial Mechanism in North Kansas City, Mo.; Lynch Jewelers in Wichita, Kansas; Parman, Tanner, Sole & Jackson Accounting firm in Arkansas City, Kansas.
Marilyn married Gerald Earl Boyce on December 27, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo. They would have celebrated fifty-eight years together this coming December. They had moved from Blue Springs, Mo. to the Branson area to be closer to their sons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and two siblings David Hazelwood and Danita Hazelwood.
Marilyn is survived by her loving husband Jerry of the home; two sons and their wives, Tom and Tracy Boyce of Branson and Bob and Mickey Boyce of Nixa; three brothers and their wives Lanny Terry (Kazuko) of Rolla, Mo., Michael Terry (Eleanor) and Mitchell Terry (Sheila) all of Vienna, Mo. and four grandchildren.
