Funeral services for Lester Dee Rogers, 88, Hollister will be held Sat. March 3 at 2PM, Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Pastor Bill Comer and Pastor Kris Essary will officiate. Burial will follow in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Mr. Rogers entered into rest on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Point Lookout Nursing and Rehab, Hollister.
Lester Dee Rogers was born Aug. 22, 1929 in Pyatt, Arkansas. He was the son of Henry and Elsie (Andrews) Rogers. The family moved to Taney County from Lead Hill, Ark. about 1940. Dee graduated from Forsyth High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Dee married Mamie Box on Sept. 15, 1950 in Harrison. Ark. They were blessed with four children to this union. Dee and Mamie had celebrated sixty-seven years together this past fall.
Dee was a truck driver. He began by hauling post to Illinois and bringing back grain on the return trip. He drove for Branson Dairy Products for twenty years. Dee worked for the same gas company even though the owners changed through the years. He started with Chaney-Holman Gas, then became Union Gas which in later years became part of Synergy Gas.
He was a member of the Community Church, Kirbyville. Dee was a member of a bowling team and a rifle club in Taney County. He enjoyed his family especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents Henry and Elsie Rogers, and his siblings Virginia Casey of Jefferson City, MO., Jo O'Neal of Winston Salem, NC., and Billy Rogers of Cedar Creek, MO.
Dee is survived by his loving wife Mamie Rogers; his children and their spouses Deelena Graves (Billy) of Benton, Ark.; Jimmy Rogers (Susie) of Ozark; Tena George (Donald) of Hollister; Gina Stuart (Bob) of Forsyth; his twin sister Wanda Crouch of Forsyth; seven grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren and his Step-Mother Susie (Hawkins) Rogers, age 106, of Forsyth.
Visitation will be Friday evening March 2 from 6:00 till 7:30 PM at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
