John Norton Holcomb, 75 of Springfield formerly of Branson, passed away Thursday, April 12 in Jordan Creek Nursing Facility in Springfield. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 3:00 P.M. at Unity of Springfield, 2214 E. Seminole St., Springfield with Sue Baggett-Spears officiating. Burial will be in Mtn. Grove Cemetery, Branson at a later date. Arrangements were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
John was born on September 1, 1942 in Salina, Kansas to William Grant Holcomb and Mary Elizabeth (Worth) Holcomb. He served in the United States Navy and Marines during Vietnam. John owned and operated his own HVAC repair company.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lottie “Jimmie” Holcomb and son, Robert Grant Holcomb.
John is survived by his daughters, Patti Bixler of Springfield and Kathy Cooper of Lakeland, FL; sons, John Dooley, III of Jacksonville, FL and Thomas Holcomb of Sanderson, FL; brothers, Grant Holcomb of Branson and Walter Holcomb of Boston, MA along with his thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren and a host of family and friends.
