Graveside services for John Clotfelter, Jr. will be Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in Fairview Cemetery in Cherryvale, Kansas.
John Marven Clotfelter, Jr. was born on September 10, 1935 in Cherryvale, KS. He was the son of John Marven Clotfelter, Sr. and Susie Ellen Clotfelter. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. John was a butcher for many years, finally realizing his dreams and owning his own grocery store for over 20 years in Gridley, KS. After selling the store, John went on to do many things, including driving a Head Start school bus, traveling coast-to-coast for Swift trucking with his beautiful wife, and joyfully sweeping the streets of Silver Dollar City.
John married Maryln Irene Knoles on January 23, 1971 in Cherryvale. They made their home in Gridley and eventually found their way to Richland, MO. Their love of the Ozarks led them to settle in Hollister for 16 years. John was a member of First Baptist Church Branson. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, watching horror movies, woodworking and hunting. He was also a talented piano player. John found it in his heart to serve on mission trips to Central America with the Christian Motorcycle Association numerous times.
John entered into rest on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at the age of 84.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, John Marven Clotfelter, III and daughter Debra Clotfelter.
John is survived by his wife, Maryln of Hollister; children, Ron Bebus, Jon Bebus, Raymond Clotfelter, and Karla Loy along with six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, who he loved deeply.
