James Franklin Wilkerson was born on September 12, 1957 in St. Charles, Missouri. He was the son of Virgil & Inez (Calwell) Wilkerson. He spent much of his life in the St. Louis area before moving to Hollister. James proudly served in the United States Army and after his service he continued his support of the armed services by being a member of AMVETS.
James worked as a driver. He drove limousines in the St. Louis area and after moving to Branson he enjoyed his job driving the horse drawn carriages around the downtown and Branson Landing area. When James wasn’t working he loved being around his grandchildren and he was a great cook. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and shooting guns. James also enjoyed animals and had great companionship and took great care of his dogs and horses.
James entered into rest on May 8, 2019 in St. Louis, MO at Barnes Jewish Hospital at the age of 61.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his children, Matthew Wilkerson (LeeAnn Puffett) of Taneyville and Taylor Wilkerson (Justin) of Hollister; two brothers, Don Wilkerson (Connie) of St. Louis and Al Bailey (Sharon) of Glencoe, AL along with four grandchildren.
James will be interred at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield with time and date to be announced.
