Helen Lorraine Morgan was born May 15, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri. She was the daughter of Carmen Perkins and Stella (Robertson) Perkins. She grew up in Dixon, Missouri and graduated in the class of 1957 from Dixon schools.
Helen married Charles Napieralski. Charles was in the United States Army and he and Helen were stationed in Taiwan during the 1960s. She used her beautiful voice to entertain patrons at nightclubs. She also had the opportunity to sing with headliners such as Stella Parton and Porter Waggoner. Helen moved back to the Rolla area and continued to support her family through singing and working as a seamstress. She later married Clifton Loy and they were together until the early 1980s. Helen then met Jay Morgan, a truck driver. They were married on May 3, 1985 in Mt. Vernon, MO. Helen and Jay weren’t just partners in life but also in work. They worked as team drivers for 18 years before retiring.
Helen and Jay settled in Hollister. She continued sharing her voice and singing talent with others and was well known around the Branson karaoke circuit. She was a stunning and strong woman who will be deeply missed.
