Georgie Smith Obituary

Georgie Mae Smith was born May 23, 1950 in Caruthersville, Missouri, the daughter of George C. Smith and Susie L. (Booker) Smith.  She grew up in Caruthersville and spent much of her life there.  Georgie did many things in Caruthersville.  She had worked in the cotton fields, helped manage an automobile sales lot and cooked at the Roundhouse Restaurant.

Georgie lived in Caruthersville until 2013 when she moved to Tennessee for a time and then to Alabama in 2016 before moving to Branson.  She was a loving mother who will be deeply missed.

Georgie entered into rest on December 17, 2019 at the age of 69.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her children’s father, James Freddie Rodgers; daughter, Linda Foreman; brothers, Eugene, Odel, Coy and Mattie Smith; sister, Ruth Rodgers and four grandchildren.

Georgie is survived by her children, Casey Smith and wife Angela of Sikeston, MO, Perry Smith of Kennett, MO, Ronnie Smith and wife Shondra of Caruthersville, Mary Smith of Branson, Carla Smith of Milton, FL, Janet Smith of Caruthersville and Charlotte Hudson and husband MC of Kennett; her brother, Silas Smith of Kennett along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation for Georgie will be Monday, December 23 from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson with burial to follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.
