Evelyn Smallwood Obituary

Evelyn (Crowe) Smallwood was born December 5, 1926 in Covin, Alabama to Arlie & Mellie (Abbott) Crowe.  She grew up in Alabama and one of her favorite memories of her youth and stories to tell was the time she spent at her teacher's house picking cotton and sharing lunch with her teacher, her teacher's husband and other students who had gone cotton picking and how her teacher's husband enjoyed the help but not all the mouths to feed at lunchtime.  She started her family in Alabama, later moving to Sacramento, California and then Red Bluff, California.  Evelyn worked at a nursing home in Red Bluff taking care of other people's parents with the same attention and kindness as she would want given to her own family.  From there, she went to work for Diamond International and later retired from the paper plate and egg carton manufacturer.

Evelyn moved to Branson in 2005 from Red Bluff.  She was a sales associate in the gift shop at Kings Castle Theater in Branson.  She was so personable and well loved, folks would come back time and again asking for the sweet little white-headed lady who worked there.  Evelyn also enjoyed finding treasures thrift store shopping around Branson.

Evelyn entered into rest Sunday, April 21, 2019 in Hollister, MO at the age of 92.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arlie & Mellie Crowe; her son, Randy Smallwood; brothers, Dewey Crowe and Jack Crowe; sisters, Helen Hobbs and Ruth Tarwater along with one great grandchild.

She leaves behind her family who adored her: son, Bob Smallwood of Oakman, AL; daughter, Angie and her husband Roy Montgomery of Branson, MO; four grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and many, many friends in Branson and beyond.

The family will hold private services to celebrate Evelyn's life. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Red Bluff, CA next to her son, Randy.
