Eugene Kennedy was born on December 21, 1942 in Sulphur, Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana. He was the son of Lloyd Eugene Kennedy & Opal (Pine) Kennedy. He grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas, attending Nettleton Elementary and graduating from Nettleton High School. He went on to earn a business degree from a business school.
Eugene married the love of his life, Betty Jo Ferrell on December 23, 1962 in Jonesboro. They shared a beautiful life together, raising three children and enjoying their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Eugene worked at Jack Henry & Associates as Technical Support for their many accounts. He and Betty had moved to Branson in 2009 from Hot Springs Village, AR. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on old automobiles. Eugene held a seat on the Board at Fall Creek Resort. He was a faithful member of Friendly Baptist Church and served as Chairman of Deacons.
Eugene passed away on October 30, 2018 at the age of 75.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond and Roger; and sisters, Betty Lou and Linda.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Jo Kennedy of Branson; children, Ron Kennedy of Branson, Byron Kennedy of Allen, TX and Tammy Lynn Doyle of Branson; grandchildren, Brandon Kennedy, Sarah Kennedy, Mason Doyle and Mathew Doyle along with two great grandchildren.
Services will be Friday, November 2, 2018 at Friendly Baptist Church in Branson with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. and a celebration of Eugene’s life at 11:00 A.M., officiated by Pastor Monty Dunn. Burial will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
