Elsie Pearl Kaneaster Hensley Gross Slaton

February 16, 1928 ~ February 28, 2019 (age 91)

Elsie Pearl Kaneaster Hensley Gross Slaton, 91, passed away February 28, 2019 at Tablerock Care Center, Kimberling City, MO.  Pearl was born February 16, 1928 at Branson, MO to Sam and Lottie (Brown) Kaneaster.

Pearl worked at Skaggs Hospital, the Branson school system as a “Lunch lady”, School of the Ozarks College Center and various restaurants in the Branson area before retiring.

She loved to cook for her family after retirement, and enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, camping, hunting and especially fishing.  She always said “Fishing takes away all the aches and pains and worries of the world.”

Although she was divorced from her three husbands C.V. (Dude) Hensley, Arlis Gross and Elmo Slaton, they all preceded her in death.  She was also preceded in death by her parents, brothers Louis Brown, Frankie Lee Kaneaster, Charles Kaneaster, George Kaneaster and sisters Frances Clevenger and Margie Ridgon.

Pearl is survived by one sister RoseMary Getman (John) of Dadeville, MO; two daughters, Wilma Hensley Taylor of Branson, MO and Norma Hensley of Ozark, MO.  Five grandchildren, Heath Taylor, Kim Taylor, Jeff Groves, Joe Gandy, and Kendra Gandy.  Five great-grandchildren Sam Wright, Aiden Siever, Zoe Gandy, Millie Gandy and soon to be Baby (Girl) Gandy and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. 

In lieu of flowers the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choice.
