Charles Robert Jenkins, Jr. was born on July 14, 1943 in Bedford, Indiana. He was the son of Charles Jenkins and Betty (Stigall) Stewart.
He earned a B.B.A. in Accounting from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX in 1977. He went on to earn both a T.H.G. degree in Pastoral Studies and B.S. in Bible Studies from Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO. He had the gift of teaching and faithfully served the Lord as a pastor for 30 years. You could often find him reading, either studying or for enjoyment.
Charles was united in marriage to Margaret Anne Benson on October 12, 1997 in Springfield, MO. They shared much love with one another and with their family.
Charles resided in Branson the past five years, moving here from Ozark. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Hollister.
Charles entered into rest on December 7, 2018 in Branson at the age of 75.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Frank Stewart.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Jenkins of Branson; children, Sheri Hawkins of Allen, Texas, Charles Jenkins, III “Bob” of Alabama, Tom Jenkins of Springfield, MO, Lee Bockhorn and wife Giulietta of Alexandria, VA, Laura Fielder and husband Mark of Branson; sisters, Susie Blevins of Rowlett, TX and Faye Goldsmith and husband Jackie of Kaufman, TX; along with nine grandchildren.
A celebration of Charles’ life will be held on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the First Baptist Church, Hollister with Pastor Will Griswold and Chaplain Randy Cantrell officiating.
