Carol Jean “Jeanie” Whorton was born on January 9, 1943 near Blue Eye in Arkansas to Ray & Treva Odean (Hopper) Parton. She grew up in Blue Eye and graduated from high school there. Jeanie married Harold Whorton on June 17, 1961 in Forsyth, Missouri and they were blessed with two sons. Jeanie was an amazing wife and mother and loved caring for her family. She had done different jobs in Branson including working for Branson Laundry, Roark and the Radisson Hotel and Taylor Furniture. Jeanie attended Church of the Harvest in Branson. She enjoyed keeping up with friends and family on Facebook and she loved time with her grandchildren.
Jeanie entered into rest on Friday, July 13, 2018 at Cox South in Springfield at the age of 75.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ray and Treva Parton.
Jeanie is survived by her husband, Harold Whorton of Forsyth; sons, Doug Whorton and wife Lori of Hollister and Mark Whorton and wife Jessica of Nixa; six grandchildren, Kayla and husband Trey, Hailey, Jarett, Jordan, Jasmine and Josy; and sister, Earnestine Jones of Hollister.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening, July 17 from 6:00 to 7:00 P.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Graveside services will be Wednesday, July 18 at 10:00 A.M. in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson with Bill Burris officiating.
