Blanche Boyd Obituary

Funeral services for Blanche L. Boyd, 94, Reeds Spring, were held Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson. Pastor Jim Cantrell officiated.  Burial followed at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  Mrs. Boyd passed away Oct. 25, 2018 at Cox South in Springfield, Mo.

 

Blanche Loretta Boyd was born Sept. 3, 1924 in Iona, Missouri.  She was the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Thompson) Parsons.  Blanche was a lifelong Taney County resident. She married Chester Boyd on June 28, 1941 and was blessed with four children.  Blanche and Chester had celebrated fifty years together before his passing in Feb. of 1992. Blanche attended the Keystone Baptist Church, Reeds Spring.  She was saved and gave her life to Christ at the age of 35.

 

In her lifetime she had worked for Holliday Hills Golf Course as a prep cook; Emerson Cannery Factory and Hagel Garment Factory in Reeds Spring.  After retiring she worked with her husband making baskets which they sold to Silver Dollar City and craft malls.  Her hobbies consisted of quilting, embroidery, collecting dolls and tea pots. Most of all, Blanche enjoyed her family from the children down to her great-great-great grandchild.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Chester Boyd, a son Stanley Boyd, a step daughter Vestia Shephard, two infant brothers, seven sisters, four step grandchildren Jerry Shephard, Larry Shephard, Judy Jones and Brenda Robinette, two great grandchildren Shelby Beck and Joshua Polson, and two step great grandchildren Bradley Jones and Mandy Shephard.

 

Blanche is survived by her loving children Wade Boyd (Linda); Dixie Foster all of Reeds Spring; Kenneth Boyd (Barbara) of Lampe; step son Billy Boyd and step daughter Norma Teague both of Reeds Spring; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren, twelve great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great granddaughter; numerous step grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and step great-great grandchildren.  She will also be missed by many other relatives and friends.
