Benjamin Harrison “Ben” Cole was born on June 30, 1934 in Hammon, Oklahoma. He was the son of Harrison Benjamin Cole and Maude (Townsend) Cole. He proudly served in the United States Navy. After serving in the United States Navy he became a pharmaceutical sales representative for Pfizer laboratories in Wichita Falls, TX. His love for animals and greyhounds led him into the Greyhound racing business. He had a long and successful career in the industry and soon became one of the most successful owners and breeders in the country. He owned and operated a greyhound farm in Hammon, OK.
Ben married his sweetheart, Jane Josephine Cole on August 31, 1957. He enjoyed time with his children and grandchildren and attending and being involved in their activities. Ben moved to Branson from Hammon.
He entered into rest on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at the age of 83.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Jane and his sister, Doris Lamb.
Ben is survived by his children, William Cole of Elk City, OK, Brett Cole of Oklahoma City, OK, Melinda Ross of Branson; his brother, Bill Cole; grandchildren, Jessika Lyn Schmaranzer, Derek Benjamin Ross, Ashley Clarie Cole, Amanda Jane Meier and great grandchildren, Vienna Schmaranzer and Lincoln Meier.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
