Funeral services for Alvin Dixon, 83, of Kirbyville will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home & Crematory, Branson with Rev. Rick Voliva officiating. Burial will follow in Brittain Cemetery, Kirbyville. Visitation will be Friday evening, May 10, 2019 from 6:00 to 7:30 P.M. in the funeral home.
Alvin Clyde Dixon was born on March 26, 1936 in Mincy, Missouri to Emitt Dixon and Hallie (France) Dixon. He attended Mincy School for his elementary schooling and went to high school in Branson, graduating from there.
Alvin worked as a construction supervisor and general superintendent on a number of locks, dams and hydroelectric plants. He had worked on projects at Table Rock, Beaver, Truman and Norfolk Dams and Greer’s Ferry locally and many other projects around the country. Alvin loved his work. When he wasn’t working, you could find him enjoying the outdoors, hunting and fishing.
Alvin entered into rest on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Pt. Lookout Nursing and Rehab in Hollister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Roxie Dixon; brothers, Glen, Leon, Carl and Don Dixon and sister, Opal Baughman.
He is survived by his three sons, Denver & Karen Dixon of Cole Camp, MO, Dexter & Jeri Dixon of Kirbyville and Dallas Dixon of Kirbyville; brothers, Stanley & Barbara Dixon of Nixa, Chester & Ardyth Dixon of Kirbyville, Bob & Barbara Dixon of Kirbyville; sister, Bonnie Cooper of South Haven, MS; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren along with his dear companion, Betty Taylor of Hollister.
