Rev. Stella V. Satterfield

May 13, 1922 ~ October 27, 2017 (age 95) 95 Years Old

Rev. Stella V. Satterfield, 95, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Friday, October 27, 2017 surrounded by loved ones.  Born May 13, 1922 on a farm in Simpson, Oklahoma, she was the eldest child of Jessie and Florence (Matthew) Robinson.    Stella V. married the love of her life in 1940, Elvis Lee Satterfield, and they celebrated 58 wonderful years together.   Faith was the foundation in all areas of her life.  She was called to serve the Lord and minister at a very young age and she and her father, Jesse Robinson built churches in Pratt, Kansas and a city in East Texas.   Stella V. was officially ordained as a Minister in April, 1975 while pastoring in Dodge City, Kansas with her husband.  Over the course of her lifetime she was an integral part of touching many lives and pastoring at churches in the communities of Tishomingo, Oklahoma, St John, Cheney, Oswego, and Dodge City, Kansas; Kimberling City and Bolivar, Missouri.   Stella V. served as Director of Women’s Ministries for the Southern District of Missouri.  Upon her retirement, she continued touching lives and sharing Jesus’ love traveling throughout the world on Missions Trips and by using her incredible gift for sewing with the charitable foundation Columbus Threads of Love.  Her ability to touch lives was again recognized as she was named a finalist in 2006 for the prestigious Jefferson Foundation Award.   The things that mattered most in her life, in her words…  “Knowing all is well with my soul; Faithfulness of my mother and father through the years; My husband for his faithfulness in all things; Safety and Love of my children; My Aunt Edna and Uncle Dennis and their family; and close friends all during my life”.  She loved to garden, sew, cook, recite poetry and scripture and receive and send cards and letters from friends and family.  Her ministry, faithfulness and servitude will be her legacy.      “If you could own all the world and it's money, Build castles tall enough to reach the sky above; If you could know everything there was to know about life's game, Yet you've known nothing until you've known God and His love.”

Survivors include daughter Anita (Larry), son David (Jeri), daughter Sharon, son Dallas (Lisa); grandchildren Debbie (Tim), David Jr. (Jill), Michael (Michael), Shari (Marlin), Dawn (Jason), Melissa (Aaron), Paige (David), Morgan (AJ), Drew; great-grandchildren Jennafer (Jimmy), Madison (Travis), Timothy, Mackenzie, Larry, Morgon, Gavin, Katie, Kelsie, Maguire, Kenzie, Jayden, Tatum, Athan; great great-grandchildren Chloe and Payton; brother Donald Dean Robinson, brother-in-law Kenneth Satterfield (Ilene) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Elvis Lee and seven siblings.   Stella V. dearly loved her family and was so proud of all of them.
