Randall "Ran" Graham Pappenfort

February 10, 1921 ~ April 16, 2017 (age 96) 96 Years Old

Randall "RAN" Pappenfort, 96, passed peacefully on April 16th at Wedgewood Gardens Assisted Living in Reeds Springs, Missouri.


Ran was born in Louisiana, Missouri, the youngest son of Aneta Graham and Roberts Barnard Pappenfort.  He graduated from Louisiana MO High School and attended the University of Missouri in Columbia where he was a member of the Kappa Sigma fraternity.   In 1942 he was drafted into the US Army.  He served honorably during WWII in the China Burma India Theater as Postmaster of Exchange with the rank of Sergeant.

 

After WWII, Ran returned to his studies at MU, met and fell in love with a Stephen's College student, Edith (Edie) Eleanor Harris.


On August 10, 1946, Ran married Edie in her home town of Louisville, Kentucky.  They made their home in Columbia, Missouri while Ran finished his degree in accounting.  Ran and Edie then moved to New York while he performed his internship for Certified Public Accounting with Haskins & Sells.  Upon completing his CPA, Ran was assigned to Kansas City where they made their home in Overland Park, Kansas.

 

Ran worked many years for Haskin & Sells with a short time working for Baird, Kurtz & Dobson. He eventually became the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for Peerless Products Aluminum Manufacturing Company.  During those years he also pursued his passion for hunting, fishing, and golf.


In 1985 Ran retired and moved to Stone County, MO.  He and Edie divided their time between Kimberling City, Missouri and Tucson, Arizona for 20+ years. They permanently relocated to Tucson in 2007.  They were members of both Ventana Canyon Golf Club in Tucson and LedgeStone Country Club at StoneBridge Village in Branson West, MO.

Ran is survived by his three sons, Randall Harris, Stewart Graham (wife Alisa), and Christopher Roberts (wife Cindy); eight (8) grandchildren, eight (8) great grandchildren, four (4) nephews, and one (1) niece.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 3 Northwoods Drive, Kimberling City, MO 65686.  He will be interned in the church's columbarium next to his wife, Edie, who proceeded him in death.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to The American Cancer Society or a charity of the donor’s choice.
