Earl Joe Smith

Earl Joe Smith was born on August 17, 1937 in Fitzhugh, Oklahoma.  He was the son of Joe Henry Smith and Pauline Childress Smith.

Joe married Ardis Marie Rector on December 31, 1958 in Gainesville, TX.  They had celebrated fifty-seven years together before she passed away in January 2016.  Joe and Ardis moved to this area in 2008 from Murfreesboro, TN.

Joe had worked for many years with the Conoco Petroleum Co. He started with the company as a Gas Station Attendant. Joe worked up thru the company and retired as North Central and Northwest Texas Crude Oil Production Supervisor.  Joe will be remembered for his work ethic, and the enjoyment and being proud of his children and grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Pauline Smith, and one sister Carol Dickerson.

Joe is survived by his children; Teena Dempsey of Rockvale, Tenn.; James Smith of Branson, Mo; Darrell Smith of Muskogee, OK; and Elizabeth James of Corpus Christi, TX; one brother, Don Smith of Sherman, TX; eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
