Doris Raye Brewer

August 28, 1939 ~ May 17, 2017 (age 77) 77 Years Old


Funeral services for Doris R. Brewer, 77, Branson will be held Tuesday, May 23 at the Branson United Methodist Church 2:00 PM.  Pastor Eric Derks will officiate.  Burial will follow at Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson.  Mrs. Brewer passed away Wed. May 17, 2017 at Cox South in Springfield. Services are under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.

Doris Raye Brewer was born in Clinton, Missouri on Aug. 28, 1939.  She was the daughter of John Jewel and Thelma Pearl (Jones) Chenoweth.  Doris married John Fredrick Brewer on Dec. 19, 1956.  

Doris retired as a manager for The Ozark Mountaineer, a retail book store.  Doris was active in Branson United Methodist Church. Doris and her husband John played Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus during the Christmas season. She was family first oriented and adopted a child into her home.  Doris was quite a fan for the Chiefs and Royals.  She also was an active sports fan of baseball, basketball and football of various teams.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband John; two sons and daughters-in-law Marcus Brewer, Lucas Brewer, Flossie Brewer and Diane Brewer; a brother Larry Kent Chenoweth; and a sister Norma Faye Catron.

Doris is survived by her son Dea Brewer of Branson, five grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Monday evening May 22, 2017 from 6-7 PM Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory, Branson.
