Debra Rae Jackson

January 24, 1958 ~ November 12, 2017 (age 59) 59 Years Old

Debra Rae Jackson was born on January 24, 1958 in Atlantic, Iowa and grew up in Red Oak, IA.  She was the daughter of Lloyd Dean Rutherford & Norma Elaine (Sivadge) Rutherford.  On October 1, 1976, Debra married Kris Jackson in Red Oak. They have lived in the Branson area for the past thirty years.

Debra, most knew her simply as Deb, was a woman of class and elegance. She loved horses, working for Bear Creek and Shepherd of the Hills Trail Rides, Webb Riding Academy, American Saddlebred stables and serving to all ages as a riding instructor. She loved her own Saddlebreds and most lately her two miniatures, Chevron and Tinkerbelle. She loved to hike and take any outdoor challenge. She served for years as a pastor’s wife in Iowa, Missouri and Oklahoma and traveled in numerous states and nations of the world, with her husband, in evangelism and missions work. When not in horse clothes, she modeled at the Branson Landing and worked for a few years at Two Sisters Jewelry at Silver Dollar City. She loved their fastest roller coasters. And worked in several Branson-area jewelry and retail shops. Much of her earlier career was spent in greenhouses and plant shops. Her grandchildren affectionately know her as Grammy.

Debra entered into rest on Sunday, November 12, 2017 at her home in Reeds Spring at the age of 59.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Rutherford and one grandson, Justus Jackson.

She is survived by her husband, Kris Jackson of Reeds Spring; her son, Joshua Jackson and wife Bambi of Reeds Spring; her mother, Norma Carr and husband Ed of Corning, IA; one brother, Doug Rutherford of Las Vegas, NV; one sister, Diane Adkisson of Corning; one half-brother, James Rutherford of Osceola, IA; five step-brothers and sisters and five grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 16, 2017 beginning at 5:30 P.M. at Lakewood Church in Branson West.  A celebration of life will follow at 7:00 P.M. at the church with Pastor Cecil W. Todd officiating.
