Consuelo "Connie" G. Garcia

Our beloved mother, Connie Garcia, went home to her Lord on January 10, 2018.  Her time with us was filled with the joy of her family and friends and her close relationship with her Lord.

Consuelo G. Garcia was born on March 28, 1929 in Mexico City, Mexico.  She was the daughter of Cresencio and Consuelo Garcia de Ortiz.  She married Rafael “Ray” Garcia on August 26, 1949 in Mexico City, Mexico.  Connie and Ray moved to Branson in 1970 from Overland Park, Kansas and opened Garcia’s Mexican Restaurant that they operated until their retirement in 1997. She was a member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Branson.

Connie’s life was filled with the loved of her five children, Maria Elena (Jimmie) Wilson of Branson, Teresa (Stan) Mentzer of Reno, NV, Rosy (Wren) Helwig of Branson, Cristi (John) Moore of Branson and Rafael Garcia of St. Louis, nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Carlos (Lupita) Garcia of Veracruz, Mexico and sister, Cristina Spain of Hollister.  Connie’s love of life will be missed by all who knew and loved her. 

Please join us to celebrate the life of our wonderful mother on Saturday, January 13th at 1:00 p.m. for visitation and services following at 2:00 p.m. at Sanctuary of Hope Church, 1790 Bee Creek Rd in Branson.  Graveside services will follow in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory.  At the conclusion of services, a reception and celebration of Connie’s life will be held at the Sanctuary of Hope.  In her honor, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
