Charlie Pike Obituary

Charlie Eldon Pike was born July 24, 1926 in Sudan, Texas.  He was the son of Charlie Sylvester Pike and Myrtle Rae (Simpson) Pike.  He proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II.  After returning from war, Charlie married Rowena Taylor on June 17, 1951 in Dodge City, Kansas.  They raised their family in Dodge City and Charlie worked as a machinist on farm equipment.  He and Rowena moved to Branson in 1973 from Dodge City.  They owned and operated a mobile home park in Branson.

Charlie was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and loved many activities with his family.  He enjoyed boating, waterskiing, golfing and dancing with his sweetheart, Rowena.  He was also a pilot, a woodworker crafting furniture and had a green thumb in the garden.  When temperatures were cooler you could find him snow skiing or hunting for pheasant, duck and deer. Charlie was also an amateur radio operator.  He attended the First Baptist Church in Hollister, American Legion and the VFW in Dodge City.

Charlie entered into rest on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at the age of 91.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Curtis Pike, Larry Pike, Windell Pike, Harold Levon Pike and Maxine Chaney.

Charlie is survived by his wife, Rowena Pike of Hollister; sons, Charlie Eugene Pike and Corley Pike both of Branson; his daughter, Charlynn Cole and husband Lee of Dodge City, KS; seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
