Bruce Allen Koch

March 19, 1932 ~ September 14, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old


Bruce Allen Koch was born March 19, 1932 in a farmhouse three miles south of Emma, MO, His parents were Irvin John Koch and Ellen Frerking Koch. Bruce went to school at St. Paul Lutheran Grade School and Holy Cross Lutheran School.

Bruce enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in March 1952 for a four-year term. He was based in San Marcos, Texas. He was discharged in March of 1956 as a Staff Sergeant and returned home to work as a carpenter again before getting a job with an Air Force buddy in Wentzville, MO wiring new and existing homes.

Bruce later returned to Concordia working on the construction of the Concordia Telephone Plant. He eventually got a new job with the telephone company. He met Lorene Boeschen while on a call for the telephone company. They married on June 25, 1960.

Bruce got a job with the Branson Telephone Company and he and Lorene moved to Branson. They were married forty-nine years before her death in 2010.

Bruce was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church. His favorite hobby was fishing and he was an avid cat lover.

Bruce entered into rest on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Shepherd of the Hills Care Center in Branson. He was 85 years old.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lorene.

He is survived by his children, Jerald Koch and wife Stacy, Nixa, MO; John Koch and wife Karen of Forsyth; Sandra Albrecht and husband Donald of Greenfield, IN and five grandchildren, Matthew and Amelia Koch, Melissa and Caulen Leimkuehler and Jordan and Candace Albrecht.

Funeral services will be Monday, September 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, Branson with Pastor Joel Kruger officiating. Visitation will precede the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will be in Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson, with full military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to Faith Lutheran Church (debt payment fund).  Services conducted by Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory Branson, Missouri.
